GCA Winter Carnival • Greenwood Christian Academy is hosting its first Winter Carnival and we are opening this event up to the community. Carnival games, bounce houses, inflatable basketball and obstacle courses for all ages. All games have prizes, including nice grand prizes that will be drawn at the end of the night. You need a Carnival Wristband to play the Carnival games. Wristbands are $10 per person and the family cap is $30.  Please buy your wristband in advance to help us plan. Middle and high school students also have the opportunity to compete in a Family Feud Game Night! Form your own team of five friends and let’s see who will walk away the GCA Family Feud Champ! GriefShare • Grieving the loss of someone close to you? Find comfort and support at GriefShare. GriefShare is a 13-session seminar/support group. Greenwood Public Library Family Program • Abraham Lincoln – Hoosier Hero. In this rewarding performance by actor Danny Russel, hilarity and heartbreak overflow as our most famous Hoosier, Abraham Lincoln, traces his amazing journey from a log cabin to the White House in his customary black suit and ever-present stovepipe hat.  A professional actor for more than 30 years with advanced training from Chicago Actors Studio, Russel tours nationally, portraying historical characters. In addition, Russel is a six-time grant recipient honored by the Indiana Arts Commission for his theatrical work who travels the country, bringing Lincoln back to life.  | When: Feb. 29, 1-2 p.m. | Where: Greenwood Public Library, 310 S. Quilt Connection Guild Meeting • Our guest speakers will be Donna and Bill Hendricks. Donna and Bill have been involved in “Living History” and military reenactments for 50 years. They will be giving a presentation on costume design and sewing that made possible Bill’s participation in reenactments Their program will focus on the fabrics and patterns used in uniforms and civilian clothing in the 18th and 19th centuries. Leadership Johnson County Annual Wine Event • For the third year, we will host our event at The Nest Event Center in Greenwood. We hope you will join us. Our event attracts more attendees each year, bringing together more than 375 leaders from central Indiana to share a night of food paired with delicious wine, great conversation and a shared goal of supporting an organization dedicated to cultivating and developing informed and involved citizens working to make our community better. Over our history, LJC has brought quality leadership training to Johnson County. Tuition for these programs only covers a fraction of the cost and our wine event will help us to continue to facilitate professional development opportunities for years to come. As you know, the success of any event such as this depends on the generosity of friends and businesses to donate exciting and unique silent and live auction items. We hope LJC can count on you to donate a tax-deductible item.
