Buzz Club • Buzz Club is an after-school program for grades K-6, Monday through Friday. Cost is $30 per week; each additional child is $15 per week. Transportation is provided to HPCC after school. Art Club • Art Club begins again! Students in grades 5-12 are invited to participate regardless where they attend school. All supplies and snacks are included. Each workshop is led by local artist Sam Posthumus and is only $5 per week. No commitment; come on the weeks you can. Ladies’ Fun Night: White Elephant Bingo • Enjoy dinner and Bingo with a twist. Pack Away Hunger • Every day, thousands of central Indiana families face the harsh reality of hunger and food insecurity. Join us to change this reality at our March Southside public park. Together we’ll create 7,500 meals for local food pantries. This is an all-ages and all-abilities event! Purse Bingo • VFW Post 5864’s Auxiliary has planned a “Coach” Purse Bingo game. The cost is $25 per person and everyone will receive a free dauber. Individuals playing bingo must be 18 years of age or older. If table of eight is purchased, it is $30 each. There will be door prizes. Healthy Habits: Walking Book Club • Do you know that reading every day can reduce stress levels and increase life expectancy? Or that walking just 30 minutes a day can improve cardiovascular fitness and strengthen bones? We’re combining the library’s mission to spread a love of reading with fostering healthy lifestyles at a casual Walking Book Club! Join us at GPL this spring as we build community, talk books and get moving on the trails around our city. We’ll be handing out prizes at each event AND you earn miles toward our Walking Book Club map challenge! (There will be an event regardless of weather. Teen HQ: CPR and AD training • Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to take this American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) three-hour course covering Adult, Child & Infant CPR, choking and AEDs. The cost for testing materials and certification is $12 (cash or check) and will be collected in class. In two-three weeks all students who pass the written and practical exams will be mailed a certification card, good for two years. Greenwood Police Detective Rex Saltsgaver will provide instruction. We ask that no parents or younger siblings attend TeenHQ events. The Quilt Connection Guild • The Quilt Connection Guild of Greenwood will have its April speaker, Mary Strinka, former president of the Indianapolis Quilters Guild, and the featured quilter for the IQG Quilt Show in 2017. Her topic will be Stack N’ Whack and One Block Wonder quilts – How to Create Amazing Quilts with Just One Fabric. She will show her beautiful quilts and give tips and tricks to make these fabulous quilts. The program is free and open to the public.
