Police responded to a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on the north side of Pittsboro Monday morning.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Jeff Gordon Blvd. and Commerce Way.
Investigators say the driver of a Ford 150 pickup truck, Ramon Ibanez Rutiaga, 43, of Indianapolis was making a left-hand turn onto Commerce Way when he failed to yield to a motorcycle headed southbound.
The motorcycle driver identified as 35-year-old Joseph E. Strong from Lizton died at the scene, according to Pittsboro Police Chief Scott King.
Rutiaga has been cited with failure to yield making a left turn. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle without a license.
