The Plainfield American Legion Nysewander-Bayliff Post 329 is reminding local veterans and their families about an upcoming veteran benefits meeting on Oct. 20 in Plainfield.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Plainfield Interurban Building located at 401 S. Vine St. (the corner of S.Vine and Buchanan St.) in Plainfield.
Two speakers from the Indiana Department of Veteran’s Affairs (Gabrielle Owens, general counsel and Joe DeVito with outreach) are expected to attend.
There will be presentations, along with questions and answers.
You don’t have to belong to the American Legion to attend. If you are a veteran or veteran’s spouse or family member and have questions about VA benefits, you are encouraged to come.
Seating will be limited to about 65 people.
Facemasks will be required.

Any questions will be forwarded to the IDVA speakers so they can be answered at the meeting.
The Plainfield American Legion, Nysewander-Bayliff Post 329 has been in existence since 1927.
The fraternal organization currently has 52 veterans that participated in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Persian Gulf, Lebanon/Grenada, and the General Global War on Terrorism.
