WHAT HAPPENED: The council passed an ordinance on first reading that would annex property called Venables Annexation, Phase I, into the town to district 3.

WHAT IT MEANS: The property consists of .906 acres along South County Road 600 East. Comprehensive Plan: Plainfield is getting ready to undertake a planning process to update the 2016 Comprehensive Plan, and town officials encourage residents to apply to participate. The comprehensive plan is a public policy document for the town that sets the long-range vision for physical development, housing, economic development, transportation, community facilities and related topics. It serves as a guide for decision makers by expressing community values and priorities. It is a tool to address community needs, prepare for change and preserve the town’s character.
