“I look forward to leading this group through the current challenges and the future. I am grateful to the Town Manager and the Plainfield Town Council for their confidence in me to lead the organization.”
Town leaders say Anderson has stepped it up during a difficult time.
“Assistant Chief Anderson was thrust into the interim Chief position during a global pandemic and arguably one of the most unprecedented times we have faced,” said Town Manager, Andrew Klinger.
Anderson is a lifelong resident of Hendricks County. He has been involved with the Hendricks County fire service since 1997. He has volunteered with the Fire Department of Liberty Township, worked part-time with the Danville Fire Department, and has been a career firefighter with the Plainfield Fire Territory since 2002. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2008 before being appointed to assistant chief.
Anderson lives in Danville with his wife and two children. He is a recent graduate of the 2019-2 Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Leadership Academy and a 2013 graduate of Leadership Hendricks County. When not involved in the fire service, he enjoys vacationing with his family, anything sports-related, and attending his children’s many events.
Chief Brent Anderson will start his chief duties immediately.
