North Salem Elementary wins 2020 National Blue Ribbon Recognition
North Salem Elementary School in North Salem, Indiana, has been recognized by the US Dept. of Education as an exemplary, high performing school based on all student scores on state assessments or nationally normed tests.
The notification released yesterday stated that the school is “an inspiring example of how teachers, parents, and community leaders can work together to help students prepare for what comes next.”
One of only six elementary schools and two high schools in Indiana to receive this recognition, the message commended North Salem educators for “striving to do what’s right for your students and to personalize instruction to meet your students’ unique needs and strengths.”
Principal Tiffany Cox said, “The most valuable instructional practice we have is our commitment to treating each child as an individual and helping them reach their own personal growth goals. We see our school and our community as an extended family, and we believe that we can accomplish any goal if we work as a team.”
Part of the North West Hendricks School Corp., North Salem Elementary has been a Four Star school and received “A” ratings from the State for over ten years.
The eight Indiana schools are among 317 public and 50 private schools recognized across the country this year.
