Dreams of becoming Hendricks County 4-H Fair Queen

Orientation was held Sunday evening for the 2019 Hendricks County 4-H Fair Queen contestants. Dawn West, Queen Committee chair, outlined the schedule of events for the month including interviews, responsibilities, dress and more. Melanie Leichty, 2018 4-H Queen, spoke about her experiences during the Hendricks County Fair and about competing for Indiana State Fair Queen.

The nineteen young women with dreams of becoming the next 4-H Fair Queen are: Kate Alsdorf, Christa Atwell, Carson Feugqay, Mary Garner, Jenna Griffith, Kara Hankins, Samantha Hayden, Caroline Jackson, Sydney Lewis, Alexandria Linson, Anna Littrel, Rilee Jo Mood, Anna Price, Lydia Ranger, Sarah Ranger, Grace Thompson, Lydia Thompson and Jill Zurcher. Many are 10-year 4-H members.

The 2019 4-H Fair Queen Contest will be July 6 at the Hendricks County Conference Complex. Brownsburg resident Big Joe Staysniak will emcee the event. Tickets are $5, sold by the contestants and available to purchase at the Purdue Extension Office, located at the fairgrounds.
