Enjoy some summer outdoor yoga with goats at your side. Yes, goats! Hendricks Regional Health is hosting the unique animal-friendly exercise class along with other activities to encourage physical activity at the Hendricks County 4-H Fair.

“Fair visitors who participate in one of our goat yoga sessions on Wednesday will experience all the benefits yoga offers, including relaxation, stress-reducing exercises, mindfulness and lower blood pressure, plus the added element of interactive fun courtesy of the goats,” Stacey Bulla, marketing specialist for Hendricks Regional Health, said.

HRH is Sponsor of the Day on July 17 and will be hosting healthy fun with their #BeWell for Kids movement. Families can dance the afternoon away and then cool down with goat yoga along the promenade from 3-7 p.m.

HRH is also working with local emergency medical partners to keep folks safe at the fair. They have a first-aid clinic and a childcare center with air conditioning for nursing mothers and babies.

With temperatures in the 90s, volunteers are reminding everyone to stay hydrated at the fairgrounds.

“Our healthcare experts at Hendricks Regional Health recommend fair visitors drink eight ounces of water every 20 minutes when out in the sun to avoid dehydration. If you start to feel weak, light-headed and your muscles are cramping, seek out one of our first aid providers at the fair,” Bulla said.
