Don’t be late for the ball! An open formal NYE celebration in Danville

Residents can welcome 2019 in classic style when the Black & White Ball kicks off on New Year’s Eve at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds. Hosted by the Hendricks County Arts Council (HCAC), the fundraiser is a chance to dress up and appreciate the finer side of fun. Ticket sales are open to the public and will benefit the council’s mission to support the arts in Hendricks County. And to continue that mission, HCAC looks to throw its biggest party yet.

The evening’s lineup includes entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, dancing, a cash bar, prizes, local artwork, and of course, a champagne toast at midnight.

“We wanted to come out with a bang this year and do something that really stands out among the other events in Hendricks County,” said Sloan Shockley, advisor for the HCAC.

As the event title suggests, guests are “encouraged” to wear black or white colors, and dress in suits and gowns. The council also plans to feature black and white artwork along with a collection of miniature paintings donated by local artists that will be for sale. Shockley said the council will take only a 10 percent commission from art sales so nearly all proceeds will go back to the artists.

She said the council has not hosted an event as grand as what it plans for the ball. And because it’s open to the public, residents will have an option to go out and celebrate without straying too far from home.

“This has really elevated from our former gala events. With it being a formal event, it hopefully sets precedence for awareness of the arts and the importance of the fundraiser. We have serious business
to do to support the arts in Hendricks County”

Tickets are $75 and available online at hendrickscountyarts.org, or directly at Gallery on the Square, 51 S Washington St, Danville. The event will run 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds
and Conference Complex, 1900 E. Main St, Danville. For more information, email questions to info@hendrickscountyarts.org or call (317) 563-1115.
