A new probable cause court affidavit has been filed in Marion Superior Court against Brown Township trustee Nathan Mantlo.

The Hendricks County resident was arrested and charged with OWI after police say he caused a crash on March 4 in Indianapolis. It happened just before 5 p.m.at South Meridian and Morris Street.
In the new court affidavit that was filed Nov. 4, police stated that Mantlo was driving under the influence when he ran a red light and hit another vehicle, causing that driver to crash into a third car. Both drivers suffered minor injuries.
According to the court filing, the officer stated she could smell “the odor of marijuana on Mr. Mantlo.”
Several field sobriety tests were done at the scene and police noted Mantlo “failed all three tests.”
A breath test showed no signs of alcohol. According to the affidavit, police said Mantlo told them he had smoked marijuana and he had a “hash vape”
He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital for blood tests. The results were submitted to the crime lab and the Indiana Department of Toxicology.
Mantlo was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person
A pretrial conference is scheduled for January 21, 2020.
The 62-year-old from Brownsburg resident serves as the Brown Township Trustee.
