Big Woods in Speedway

By Faith Toole

The Hendricks County JUNTO met at Big Woods Speedway for after-hours networking. The Beer Garden was a perfect setting for the month of May.

The appetizer selections were Brewer’s Wings’ house-smoked flats and drummies served with celery sticks, choice of peppercorn ranch or creamy bleu cheese; Signature Pulled Pork Nachos, tortilla chips, tomato, red bbq sauce, homemade peppercorn ranch, lime wedge; and Soft Pretzel Sticks with Six Foot Blonde and Hare Trigger hot cheese dip. The owners, Ed, Jeff and Tim graciously offered us a round of Hard Truth Cinnamon Vodka shots. No one declined.

My dinner choice was the Original Big Mouth Burger, half-pound hand-pressed, certified Angus beef patty, a pile of our pulled pork, Cherrywood bacon, onion jam, bistro sauce, cheddar, on a brioche roll. Each bite was full of flavor and I enjoyed the addition of onion jam.

The networking event ended on high when the owners introduced us to Takuma Sato, 102nd Indy 500 Winner. Takuma is a great ambassador for Indy Car as he joined us for pictures.
