Police are investigating two seperate train accidents after two vehicles collided with the same train in two different locations in Brownsburg on Monday night

The accidents occurred on the CSX train line near the Crossroads Feed Barn.

Investigators say the first accident happened around 11:45 p.m. in the 6900 block of North CR 900 East when a vehicle was hit by an oncoming train. The driver was taken to the hospital with what appear to be minor injuries.

Then, around 1:25 a.m, as fire crews were finishing up the first crash scene, a second accident was reported at the railroad crossing near the 8800 block of East CR 700 North.

Crews arrived to find that a second vehicle had struck the now stopped train in the rail crossing.  The driver of the second vehicle did not survive the impact with the train.

The areas involved have stop signs but no train crossing arms.

The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
