Swarms of little ones explored the new Tiny Tots playground at Arbuckle Acres in Brownsburg on Oct.2 as Brownsburg park and town leaders officially welcomed the new play space to the popular park.

Town and park leaders, along with Representative Jeff Thompson, and Bappy the frog came out for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony

The colorful new addition located near the existing larger playground is designed for small children to play “town” or “house” with features like a fire station and farmers market.

“She just loves it. She really enjoys playing like this and I like that they show healthy food options,” said Krista Robinson, mother of 2-year-old Kollyns who eagerly took a seat at the pretend market.

Tiny Tots features 35 different interactive activities designed to help build skills for children ages 2-5.

“There is the play value and a wow factor but there is also has an educational component,” said Brownsburg Parks and Recreation Director Travis Tranbarger

“It can help children’s sensory, motor, social and emotional skills. It has a farmer’s market and a firehouse, which are two important programs that we have that can teach kids about healthy eating and safety.”

The play space will have sidewalks for wheelchair accessibility and is designed for kids of all abilities to play.

“It looks charming but it also has a serious purpose,” added Brownsburg Parks Board President Cari Palma.

“Kids of all abilities can imagine themselves as farmers or firefighters or whatever they dream of,” she said at the ceremony.
