The backbone of any community is the many local service clubs in each town. Members create goodwill projects which not only benefit Hendricks County, but often the world. Today, we speak with Avon Kiwanis President Bob Straka. He speaks about eight ways his club is involved in Avon. There is the annual Salute the Recruits to honor graduates going into service with the military. Then we talk about a couple of grants secured by the club to fund bird feeders and books for visually-impaired students. There’s also breakfasts, strawberry shortcake, popcorn, gardening and the signature event called Bordeaux, Burgundy & Boone’s Farm at the Barn. Tune in and learn about the work being done!
