Hospital employees are often dealing with life and death situations. They see people at their worst. Not just patients but family members and loved ones. It is a stressful job that can be joyous and emotionally taxing at the same time.
At Hendricks Regional Health, their motto is to Treat People Better. Now they are asking for your help in finding the hospital employee that best deserves an award for their “bedside manner.”
The public is invited to nominate Hendricks Regional Health employee or a department for the 2013 Treat People Better Award. The winner will be recognized at the annual Treat People Better Award & Auction on Nov.r 16 at the Colts Pavilion, Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.
The award and event are sponsored by the Hendricks Regional Health Foundation, which also uses the event as a fundraiser with an auction and other activities. Foundation Executive Director Sue Bogan says quality care is an expectation, but the Treat People Better Award recognizes someone who goes above and beyond this expectation.
“For (employees) to get a pat on the back, recognition, especially when it comes from a patient is special,” Bogan said. “To know that their work is appreciated, that it is meaningful to people in the community is pretty cool.”
You may submit a nomination using the online form at TreatPeopleBetter.com/nominate. Nominations are due by Aug. 30. The winner will be announced in September and recognized on Nov. 16. Net proceeds will be used to purchase to infant warmers for the hospital’s special care nursery.

Sponsorship opportunities range from $100 to $2,550, donations of auction items are being accepted, and individual tickets and corporate tables are available now by calling 745-7594.This popular event has sold out the past four years, with more than 320 guests in attendance.
