Here We Grow Again preps for epic consignment sale in Danville

By Lindsay Doty

It’s almost spring and that means it’s time for the seasonal Here We Grow Again Kids Indy West consignment sale March 11-14 at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The massive shopping event is a chance for families to save money on gently-used children’s clothing, gear and toys.

Seasoned parents looking to clear out baby stuff can earn cash for consignment, while shoppers can save by picking up gently-used items at a discount in a one-stop environment.

The Indy West event is the biggest HWGA consignment event in the Indianapolis area. This time, there will be 120,000 items from 620 consignors.

It’s a hit with local moms, and volunteers have been working around the clock to get things tagged and ready.

The event was founded in 2012 by local mother Katie Awwad and has grown every year.

During the sale time, the Exposition Hall is wall-to-wall with rows of strollers, bikes, children’s clothes, high chairs and every play mat and baby toy ever created.

Organizers are expecting around 5,000 families.

“It is a perfect combination of reselling, recycling, and reusing kids’ items,” founder Katie Awwad said. “We are really focused on the green aspect of the event this year. Decluttering, reducing waste in landfills, reusing and having moms resell to earn money.”

Consignors must register online and drop off early. It’s free admission. Cash and credit are accepted for items.

Seasoned shoppers say go early and leave the kids at home. Baby-wearing is permitted and there is a breastfeeding room. Double strollers are not allowed because of crowding.

Presale passes are given to teachers, consignors, volunteers, and military members to browse inventory before the general public.

The last few days of the sale (Friday and Saturday) items are marked down.

Here We Grow Again Indy West Spring/Summer sale will be held at the Expo Hall at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds, 1900 East Main in Danville.

The public sale runs March 11-14. Wednesday to Friday is from  9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteers are collecting diapers for the Hendricks Regional Health mommy store donation. If shoppers bring in a pack of diapers, they can get a half-off ticket to shop on Friday evening.
