The Danville Town Council met July 7. These meetings can be viewed on the town’s YouTube channel. The council meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Danville Town Hall, 49 N. Wayne St. The next scheduled meeting is July 21.
The council approved the acquisition of a $1.8 million bond anticipation note. The bond will help pay for the building of a new water treatment plant and other projects associated with the plant. This bond will be outstanding for a year and a half.
A year ago a master plan was created to address the town’s current and future water needs. It was determined then that the town needs new wells, a new water treatment plant and a new water storage tank. This anticipation bond will initiate the process for plant construction and associated projects. The total final cost is estimated at $18 million.
The property at 567 N. CR 300 E was also annexed to the town. This property has a single-family home on 2.93 acres. The petitioner is Lennar Homes of Indiana.
This is the final parcel of land for a planned unit development by Lennar Homes. Lennar has two developments, The Kensington and Four Oaks, to the west of this property. Kensington has 273 homesites, and Four Oaks has 220.
