The third annual 4th of July Golf Cart parade was this past Monday.
Over 20 golf carts came to participate. Most are from the local neighborhoods however some even come in on trailers to join.
This event started in 2020 with a group of golf cart owners talking about how fun it would be to decorate our carts in the 4th of July theme and have a parade through the neighborhoods. We were in our 4th month of the pandemic and people were looking for something fun to do.
Prestwick Country Club has been kind to allow us to start from their parking lot and end at the club. Several “Carters” stay after the parade for fun and fellowship at the Club House.
Our parade route consists of the neighborhoods of Prestwick Condos, Prestwick Green, Turnberry, Ridge Hill, Glen Eagles, Prewick Glen, and Royal Troon. This year we added The Parks of Prestwick . Each year there have been more families sitting in their yards watching the parade pass.
In past years we have had the Avon Fire Department and our Prestwick Security Officers involved and assisting
There are prizes given out for the best decorated festive golf cart..
We are looking forward to having this again in 2022.
