Gates opened an hour early on a beautiful Wednesday for the 25th annual HOT ROD Power Tour, the largest traveling car show. The caravan traveling from Louisville, KY, arrived early in Brownsburg at Lucas Oil Raceway Park. Gates are scheduled to open at noon. The seven-day, seven-city journey started June 8 in Charlotte, NC. Today is the fourth stop in Brownsburg, Hendricks County, Indiana.

Today is also Wild Wednesday, with many hot rods and street legal cars heading down the strip. In honor of the 25th anniversary for the Hot Rod power tour, tickets are free to all spectators.

Drag races begin at 6 p.m.

“We’re expecting up to 4,000 registered Power Tour cars to enter the gates at noon,” said Eric Flatt, LOR Sales and Marketing Manager. Many afternoon events are scheduled, including bands, NHRA autograph sessions and more. Food and drinks are available to purchase.

Wild Wednesday’s “Go Fast then Go Home!” will be open to all street legal cars. Cars will start to line up at 5 p.m. with drag strip lanes opening at 5:30 p.m. The event closes at 7 pm.

Licensed drivers under the age of 18 must have both parents sign consent form.
