Designing A Not So Dark Businsess Future
It was a no-brainer to catch up with our first cover, Ryan May. We still remember the feeling we had when we saw the awesome cover design of the debut issue. There was no better story to debut our first issue with. We remember May at our launch party. He was a rock star.

A Golden Anniversary
Jeff Nelson is a great businessman, but an even better individual. What he has meant to the Brownsburg and Hendricks County community is immeasurable. His support of Habit of the Heart illustrates it all. We could not leave this jewel out.

Down But Not Out
Tommy Taulman II. What can we say. Most folks know the story very well. He, his father and another individual started TKO Graphix out of a garage. Go to their Stafford Rd. facility in Plainfield and you’ll see what he’s created. It’s unbelievable. They’re celebrating their 30th year in October and to help them celebrate, the Business Leader will hold its November Cover Party, Nov. 19, at their digs. Congrats!

Dough Ray Me
We still remember the photo shoot we had with Teresa Ray. She was prepared with cash in hand – to be used in the photo. Never before had we encountered someone who really understood the idea of making a great image for the cover. She had as much fun as we did during the shoot. But don’t mistake her fun nature to mean she’s not serious about growing her business. She’s more than serious and then some.

Speer Heading The Future
Kevin Speer, President and CEO of Hendricks Regional Health had a tough job from the start. After all, he was filling the shoes of long-time HRH leader Denny Dawes (40 years at the helm). Speer’s leadership style has been effective and he has grown into one of the county’s go-to leaders.

Child Advocate No. 1
Emily Perry started Susie’s Place from scratch and has grown it into one of the biggest and most successful not-for-profits based out of Hendricks County. The child advocacy agency serves a wide geographical area – with an office in Bloomington. Words can’t describe what it means to the young lives Susie’s Place helps. Simply amazing work. Much respect to Perry.

General of Service
Stan Bassett may be a heating and cooling professional, but don’t underestimate his marketing ability. In fact it’s his keen understanding of the markets he serves and the tools he uses have allowed him much success over the years. So much in fact, it was a he has built his business over the years, ready for sons, Greg and Jeff to run, which by all accounts the apple – or apples – didn’t fall far from the tree.

Lee Comer is one of those people that every businessperson should want to emulate. He’s honest and full of integrity. He is not only respected in his home town of Danville, which he cares deeply about, but throughout Hendricks County. What a wonderful person.

Deedee Daniel is quintessential Hendricks County. She is solely responsible for laying the foundation for what the Hendricks County Community Foundation has become today. Deedee is a wonderful individual and we simply had to catch up with her.
